Disney was fabulous! We had the BEST time! It was my first trip there and I can't wait to go back. Carter had a wonderful time, too. Magic Kingdom was definitely our favorite park. This may be more detail than you care about, but I'm writing it down anyway so I can remember. Carter was good on the flight down since he got to play with the Ipad. We left Monday (the 8th) around 5:45, flew out of Lexington. I was a little worried about Carter flying with his peanut allergy but it was fine. We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Our room had a terrace where we could see the animals. We saw zebras, giraffes, ostriches and sort of elk type animal..eland maybe, I'm not sure of the name. Tuesday morning we had breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace where Carter met Piglet, Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger. He liked giving all the characters a hug. We headed to Fantasyland after that and rode Dumbo twice, then Mickey's Philharmagic, Peter Pan's Flight, It's a Small World, Snow White's Scary Adventure, and rode the Carousel. Then we did Mickey's Toontown Fair where Carter got to meet Mickey and Minnie and see their houses. The best part about going in November is that there were very few lines, and the rides that did have lines were pretty short. I'm not sure how it would have gone with a 3 yr old if we had to wait very long. We we went back and napped in the afternoon. Carter fell asleep on the bus back to the hotel. After nap, we went back to the Magic Kingdom and rode a few things in Adventureland....Aladdin's magic carpet, Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. Then we saw the Wishes fireworks. Carter watched but he is not a big fan of fireworks. He thinks they are too loud. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's at one of the other hotels. We were so impressed with every restaurant's attention to detail about food allergies. At a buffet, the chef would come out and walk me through and explain exactly what was safe. Wednesday we did Hollywood Studios. We had breakfast at Hollywood and VIne with Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso, and June and Leo from the LIttle Einsteins. Carter had Mickey shaped waffles about every morning (and was not happy when we got home that his breakfast didn't look like Mickey). We saw Playhouse Disney Live on stage and rode the Great Movie Ride. After nap, we went to Epcot for a little bit. Patrick and I rode Mission: Space, he rode Test Track, and we all rode Spaceship Earth and the Nemo ride. Then we went back to Hollywood Studios and grabbed dinner and saw the Osbourne family Christmas lights. They were great! They completely cover a couple of "streets" of houses and are set to music. There was also snow in the air which Carter enjoyed. We rode Toy Story Mania at the end of the day. We stood in line 35 min for this one and it is by far the longest we waited for anything. While we were in line, we talked to some girls that lifeguard at the Disney hotels and they told us that if you have fastpass for a ride (you get a ticket and it tells you when to come back later in the day and ride so you don't have to wait in line) and you miss your time you can still use it later in the day. We had fastpasses for this ride but missed the 3-4pm time slot. We got off the ride at 7:59 and the park closes at 8pm, but you can ride if you are in line by then. So they honored our fastpasses and we got to jump in line and ride again. Score! Especially since this was probably Carter's favorite ride. Day 3 and 4 recaps will have to wait until tomorrow.
